On Campus

The Takena Hall Student Mirrors Project is an initiative led by Anne Magratten, the Art Gallery Coordinator. The project takes place during the Takena Hall remodeling construction, where murals were installed to separate the construction from the main hallway. Students have the free space to create art, which will be temporarily installed until Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Materials and grants were provided to support students by Sheldon Flom, the LBCC Finance Vice President.

February 15, 2023, the art student Chris Long recreates the code of arms, "The Salamander" from the Douglas Clan. On their right, the art student Kayla Knight creates a mythological dragon, and social sciences student Apryl Ashland was an art student in High School and decided to paint to feel less overwhelmed.  The mirrors Project starts from the Takena Hall entrance to the courtyard door. It features other students' projects, such as Under the Ocean from Ray Rombeck, an art student passionate about Wildlife and Ocean life. The intuitive art project from the art student Frank, and the Smamose create in the ocean with seven kids from the art student Star Dayle.
